Title:

Achieving Enterprise Excellence
Beyond Lean Six Sigma and the Balanced Scorecard
Workshop
Abstract:

During the presentation, attendees are introduced to the Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) management and improvement system.

IEE is a sustainable business management system that orchestrates the three Rs of business (everyone is doing the Right things and doing them Right at the Right time) throughout the organization. IEE has a methodology for continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and profit, which goes beyond Lean Six Sigma’s project-based defect and waste reduction methods. Benefits are accomplished through an enhanced business measurement and improvement system. IEE is a business way of life to achieve more customers and profits. IEE’s enterprise and project Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control systems have a true roadmap integration of Lean and Six Sigma tools.

Attendees see how they can use the tools and techniques of the IEE deployment roadmap and value chain system to successfully build, manage, and execute the following in their company:

  • Performance measurements that lead to the right activities at the right time
  • Improvement projects that are in true alignment with business financial needs
  • An infrastructure and communication system that is long-lasting
  • A system for maximizing resource and personnel utilization, which leads to financial synergies

In addition to workshop material, attendees will receive a copy of Volume 0 and Volume 1. References will be made to these books during the workshop. After the workshop, attendees will be able to reference the books to enhance/reinforce their IEE understanding when applying the techniques. Also, the books will be useful to describe the methodologies and benefits to others.

Specific Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will learn:

  • Scorecard metrics are leading to wrong and perhaps organizationally destructive behaviors.
  • Systems for goal setting and tracking to these targets are not benefiting the company as a whole.
  • Corporate strategies and directives are often not data-determined and can lead to metrics and activities that are not necessarily benefiting the whole organization.
  • Executive governance systems can lead to activities that are jeopardizing the company’s long-term health in order to meet short-term goals.
  • Efforts to improve corporate growth and revenue are not targeting the areas that could deliver the most gains.
  • Process improvement efforts are silo organizational activities, which do not impact the business bottom line as a whole.
  • Problem firefighting does not focus on root cause analysis and the achievement of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Innovative ideas that can truly benefit the business as a whole are not occurring, not what the customer truly wants/needs, or not transitioned to the marketplace in a timely fashion
  • Systems for orchestrating employee day-to-day activities are not focused on what should be done to maximize benefits for the overall system.
