Organizational solutions to enable continuous process improvement
Presentation Abstract:

This presentation will address various organizational models applied to support continuous process improvement efforts such as Lean and Six Sigma. Although there is not a single model that will meet the needs of every organization, there are some common solutions that can be applied.

Speaker Biography:

Bob Paquette, Raytheon Six Sigma Master Expert

Bob Paquette has a strong background in applications of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Knowledge Management principles. He is currently working with the R6 Business Excellence team as a consultant for clients internal and external to Raytheon.

As a Master Expert, Bob has worked with teams across the company to develop and deploy innovations in Lean manufacturing, extending Raytheon Six Sigma to our suppliers, supply chain career development, and supply chain integration. Bob sponsored development of a new course for Raytheon Six Sigma with suppliers that deployed in 2003, training people in classes conducted across the company. Bob sponsored development and deployment of a program to certify Material Program Managers.

Bob worked with Raytheon Learning Institutes for two years, developing and delivering training for Raytheon Six Sigma Experts. Specific contributions to curriculum development included material in change management, constraint management, root cause analysis, production flow management, setup reduction, total productive maintenance, financial management, visual systems, workplace organization, pull systems, and others.

Bob worked for an internal consulting team for seven years, implementing Lean Manufacturing. During that time, Bob worked with a variety of shops, internal and external to the company to reduce cycle time and improve capacities. The shops included circuit card assembly, optics fabrication, metal fabrication, microelectronics assembly, and electronic systems assembly.
