Presentation Abstract:

This presentation will describe the eight step process for developing an efficient SC system. It will include topics such as; Value stream mapping in operation, supply chain, program management, 5S application in operation, supply chain, and Program management. Rashid will describe the effects of Lean in cash flow, transit time, inventory, and material cost improvements. Lastly Rashid will use case studies to show the Lean ladder and Change management used at Nypro, Inc.

Nypro is a plastics company which operates 52 separate businesses in 17 countries that design plastics products, build molds used to mold plastics, perform the plastics injection molding, supply other parts needed to be assembled with plastics parts, assemble the parts and prepare them for delivery to our customer or our customer's customer. Speaker Biography:

Rashid Shaikh, Senior Director Global Supply Chain

Rashid has over 20 years experience in lean operations and supply chain development. He has designed, developed, and coached lean and matrix manufacturing and supply chain organizations in Americas, Europe, and Asia for the consumer electronic and healthcare industries.

Rashid is currently managing a global Supply chain team for Nypro Inc. With the consultation of plant managers and regional VP’s he realigned global organization’s objective and created goal measuring tools that saved tens of $ millions in material cost while enhancing firm’s speed, efficiency, and leverage. Rashid initiated “Front to Back” communication strategy that ensured improved working relations among cross functional teams, increased profit margin, and shorter response time to customers. The “Back End Branding” effort successfully helped mitigating steep raw material price increases in the recent years.

Rashid holds MS of Plastics Engineering and MBA from U Mass Lowell and took executive Supply chain program at MIT. Rashid has designed a five day supply chain workshop program and conducted few dozen workshops at facilities around the globe.
