Leveraging Strengths of Suppliers
"How to make your company the most preferred customer in your industry"
Presentation Abstract:

This presentation will cover how Barrick Gold was able to create and utilize the “Supplier Advisory Council” (SAC). Essentially the SAC members, who are senior executives of their company, represent 80% of Barrick’s annual direct spend. David Young will share how this group works to help Barrick Supply Chain Management achieve their goal of being the “most preferred customer in the mining industry” and what it takes to ensure that maximum value is generated from this unique initiative. Dave Young will also highlight some of the specific objectives & accomplishments such as integration synergies and boom-to-bust cycle strategic discussions.

Supplier Development, as one of Barrick’s current programs, will also be included in this presentation.
